Founded in Dallas in 1984 by Steve Alford, Alford Media Services specialized in multi-media presentations. Back then, multi-media just meant slides and audio. As the business grew and the technology evolved, Steve partnered with brother Tom Alford and good friend, Danny Harris to incorporate Alford Media Services, Inc. in 1989.
We quickly assembled a small talented and professional staff dedicated to finding and delivering the best technical solutions with altruistic service to our valued clients. In the early nineties we staged the first ever multi-screen HDTV presentation. We quickly found ourselves staging shows across the country and around the world. As we met other professionals who shared our philosophies, our little group quickly grew. In 1993 we held our first internal staging conference bringing all our staff and key freelance technicians together with the goal to find ways to provide the highest level of support in the corporate event industry . This unique event has been repeated every two years and is the cornerstone of our growth.
Our growth was recognized when we were named one of the 100 fastest growing corporations in Dallas three times in the mid nineties. In 1997 we were honored as the Outstanding Family Owned Business in Texas by the Family Institute of Baylor University. Alford Media won the Rental & Staging Systems Award for Best Overall Staging for a Corporate or Association Event three years in a row from 2004 through 2006 and was awarded the Spotlight Award from Event Solutions Magazine for Technical Support Company of the Year in 2006. We are honored to be named as a finalist for Technical Services Company of the Year and Designer of the Year for 2009.
