In this video Dominic Fanelli, Lighting Designer, walks us through setting up a wireless access point on the grandMA2 and connecting your remote device.
Step By Step Guide:
1 – Connect the AirPort Express LAN port to your computer via RJ45 cable.
*If the device does not show up as seen below; find it under ”Other Wi-Fi Devices” you will need
to do a basic setup before configuring the WAP settings.
2 – Select your device and click edit to access the Airport settings.
3 – Under the “Base Station” tab you can change the base stations name and apply a password.
4 – Under the “Wireless” tab you can give your network a name and apply a network password.
5 – Under the “Network” tab you will set up the access point.
6 – Insure the “Router Mode” is set to DHCP and NAT.
7 – Then click “Network Options”
8 – Under “Network Options” set the IPv4 range to 192.168.
9 – Then Adjust the IP range to suit your needs. We generally will apply a range of
192.168.1.200 to 240
10 – Bonus setup item! Turn off AirPlay.
11 – Click Update and allow your AirPort to restart.
12 – Connect the AirPort to the unmanaged switch on your MA network via the LAN RJ45 port.
13 – Connect your iPad to the MA wireless network and open the MA remote app. On the MA
console, provided you have Remotes/Login Enabled turned ON under “Global Settings” you will
see the consoles connected to your network.
