Our Story

Alford Media, founded in Dallas in 1984 by Steve Alford, pioneered the field of multi-image slide programming. Steve Alford’s innovative approach resulted in award-winning multi-media shows that excelled in executing corporate events flawlessly.

Tom Alford, Steve’s brother, entered the AV industry during this period, initially working as a projectionist and later as a rental manager. As the industry grew and technology advanced, Steve Alford partnered with Tom, leading to the incorporation of Alford Media in 1989.

Following Steve Alford’s retirement in 2022, Tom Alford assumed the role of President and continues to lead the company alongside his sister, Melanie Reed, SVP, and a team of dedicated and skilled leaders.

Since Alford Media’s incorporation, the industry has undergone significant transformations. The company’s commitment to exceptional customer service and seamless event execution remains unwavering. Alford Media, a Freeman Company, has consistently provided premier event technology services and support throughout its history.

Alford Media has received numerous accolades over the years. Recently, we were honored as a Top Work Place for 2025 by USA Today as well as a Top Work Place in the categories of Innovation and Purpose & Values for 2025 and Employee Well-Being and Appreciation in 2024.
